2021.10.18 22:01 Squallingunions college entry
I'm not sure if this is the correct subreddit for this but I'll go ahead and put it in here anyways.
I have questions about getting into college. Right now I go to a high school that offers only honors and above classes(a stem high school). I am a sophomore taking junior and senior level classes. I'm making all A's and have a B in math. I'm worried that I won't get into the college i want. I don't know how much the b in math will affect my chances. If it helps, i could say my sat and act scores. I just really want to get into a good college

2021.10.18 22:01 fauxfoefo is TSH the sole indicator of hypothyroidism?
I developed a sudden rash on my face that felt prickly, stinging, burning 3 weeks ago. Went to urgent care and he wasn't sure but prescribed Mupirocin ointment for 1 week. Helped and most of it was gone at day 7. Suddenly, I developed a similar rash on my neck fold. Used kenalog ointment and it helped some. Then a week later, I developed the face rash again. Doc prescribed me metronidazole cream today and he isn't sure. We'll see if that helps.
My question is - can this be a sign of hypothyroidism? I googled my rash and the pics of people with hypothyroidism looks very similar to mine.
My TSH was normal in the summer. I have a history of eczema. My other symptoms include rapid weight gain the past few months. (I'd never been in the overweight category until this year)

2021.10.18 22:01 andyooo Does the 15.1 beta enable spatial audio for stereo music ("spatialized stereo") for non-Atmos music, and head tracking for Atmos music?
I'm using Airpods Max and noticed Apple Music and Spotify cannot enable spatial audio for stereo content. The spatial audio option when long-pressing Home and going to the headphones options, is greyed out with it "off". For Atmos content in Apple Music, the option is still greyed out but it's "on" without head tracking, so neither these options can be toggled.
To be clear, spatial audio also is supposed to work with stereo, it also sounds like speakers in your room. It does work with stereo content with video apps like Infuse, Netflix, etc., and it does work with music apps on iOS, including Apple Music and Youtube Music. Spatialized stereo with head tracking work fully in those cases.
I'm thinking like the spatial audio feature itself, it's delayed somewhat for tvOS so I'm wondering if they're fully supporting it in the 15.1 beta.

I think it's a great tool, does anybody else agree? In my experience, it's been so helpful for me. Mindfulness practices around food and eating have been really key to recognising my binges, and starting to be able to head them off. I've actually been making really good progress since I started using it, tbh, I'm quite proud of myself.

2021.10.18 22:01 autotldr Push grows to ban medical procedures performed without consent on intersex Australians. The Australian Human Rights Commission has called for legislation to prohibit medically unnecessary interventions performed without consent on people born with variations in sex characteristics.
This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 64%. (I'm a bot)
"The commission's report reinforces the notion that people born with variations in sex characteristics have a right to make decisions about any medical intervention on their own bodies," said AHRC President Emeritus Professor Rosalind Croucher AM. "This includes children and younger people - who deserve to have their views heard - and to be empowered to participate in decision making regarding any medical procedures on their bodies."
The report made 12 recommendations that aim to ensure that only medical interventions that are necessary may occur without the consent of people aged under 18, consistent with international human rights law.
The AHRC's report called for "Legislation to prohibit medical inventions in relation to people under the age of 18 born with variations in sex characteristics otherwise than in accordance with the medical necessity principle".
The Victorian government has committed to prohibiting deferrable medical interventions on intersex people without personal consent, and introducing an oversight panel to ensure compliance.
"Thanks to the tireless work of intersex advocates, the ACT and Victorian governments have made significant commitments to strengthen the rights of intersex people to make choices about what happens to their own bodies, but are yet to introduce legislation," she said.
"All states and territories must act urgently to introduce oversight schemes with appropriate prohibitions on unnecessary medical procedures performed on intersex people without their personal consent."
